Alex Park, a former financial industry executive, founded Funtastic Theater in 2015, recognizing improv’s power to transform entertainment, education, and corporate settings. He saw theater as more than a stage—it was a space to develop communication, creativity, and confidence while fostering self-awareness and collaboration. His vision was to create an environment where individuals could step out of their comfort zones, embrace spontaneity, and enhance teamwork and problem-solving skills. By integrating improv into training, he empowered performers, professionals, and educators alike. Today, Funtastic Theater continues to inspire growth, helping individuals unlock their potential and build lasting connections.
Improv, or improvisational theater, is a performance style where actors create scenes and dialogue spontaneously without a script, often based on audience suggestions. More than entertainment, improv is now a recognized training tool in corporate and educational settings. Companies like Google, Facebook, and IBM use improv to enhance creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. Business schools, including Harvard and Stanford, incorporate improv into leadership and communication courses. Celebrities like Tina Fey, Steve Carell, and Robin Williams credit improv for sharpening their adaptability and confidence. By teaching people to think on their feet, listen actively, and embrace uncertainty, improv builds essential life and professional skills far beyond the stage.
Founded a decade ago, Funtastic Theater is the only officially chartered theater in Korea specializing in improv and comedy. Located in Yongsan, the heart of Seoul, it offers a unique space for performers and learners alike. People from diverse backgrounds—including artists, trainers, coaches, corporate professionals, and students—come here to pursue their goals in performance, personal growth, and professional development. Beyond entertainment, we provide improv and comedy training, regular live performances, and corporate leadership workshops. Our role-playing programs help professionals develop communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills. Funtastic Theater is a hub for creativity, learning, and transformation through the power of improv and comedy."
